Big Island, Hawaii 2016

On August 27th of 2016 we were fortunate enough to visit Big Island, Hawaii for 9 days. I will definitely write more about this trip and create another video about the things we’ve done and place we stayed at, but for now enjoy the video I compiled from the footage I took with my DJI Phantom 3 4k drone.

Thailand, May 2016

This past month of May we had the amazing opportunity to visit Thailand. We spent there just over 2 weeks and had a fabulous time! 11 days in Krabi, which included 4 days at Ao Nang, 3 days at Phi Phi, and 4 days at Ko Lanta.

I will definitely write an extensive review of this journey later on, but for now please enjoy this short music video I compiled just now:)

Oahu, Hawaii. August 2015

Although, today is the end of October already, finally, I have some time to write a small summary about our trip to Oahu, Hawaii. I never would have thought that camping in Hawaii is possible. But talking to my massage therapist and reading several camping adventures stories in Hawaii I decided that I should, at least, once in my lifetime try it out myself.

Me and my girlfriend bought the tickets, Vancouver to Honolulu for about 380 CAD, which is extremely cheap, considering the fact that it is about 6 hours of flying time. Booked Nissan Pathfinder as our means of transportation and a campground on the North Shore of Oahu island. It was supposed to be just the two of us, but by the second week after the tickets were bought, our two friends and also my sister and her husband decided to tag along with us.

The campground we selected was Malaekahana Beach Campground. Located within couple of minutes of Polynesian Cultural Center. Very beautiful beach, and well maintained campground. It was amazing to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean waves. It was also nice to be able to wake up in the morning and to run right into the ocean and have a morning swim:)

The last three days we stayed at Waikiki Beach by the Hilton Lagoon. Also very nice, but totally different experience. Very civilized and expensive. Couple of things that we did there was the Parasailing and Submarine tour. While parasailing, we saw a group of dolphins, which was very cool! The sad part was that I managed to lose my newly bought Ray Bans. Oh well, the experience was worth it anyway!

I will try to update this post more, as time permits, but in general, the trip was wonderful. The island, the weather, the ocean – all was perfect. The highlights of the trip were swimming with the turtles,  and snorkeling at Hanauma bay. The Pearl Harbour is definitely something I would visit again.

Oh, and we loved camping in Hawaii so much that on November 17th we are going to do the same thing once more!

Harrison Hot Springs

What an exciting this past weekend was. Although it is only April, we already opened our camping season. This time we went to Sasquatch Provincial Park located roughly 10 minutes away from Harrison Hot Springs.

We packed our camping gear the day before our departure – on Friday night. On Saturday morning we left at around 11 am, and by 1 pm we were already at the destination. The weather was better than we could have ever imagined. Sunshine, low 20’s  – perfect for camping.

We hiked around Hick’s lake, which is about 8 km walk. But it is well worth it.

I took my DSLR with me, and will post some of the beautiful pictures I took during the trip! Stay tuned:)
